The Matrix

One of the most illustrious Science Fiction ,Action movie of all time. I'm sure most movie buffs have seen this movie multiple times. Needless to say, it was one of the most confusing, breathtaking, action packed sci-fi movie of the 20th Century. 'What exactly is the Matrix?' was my first question after watching the movie for the first time. The movie has sheer awesomeness written all over it. Brilliantly scripted and painfully perfected by the Wachowski Brothers. Neo was my favorite, back in the days. Purely enthralling.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

The name alone is pretty bizarre. But It's nothing short of a masterpiece.A simple idea infused with science and fiction having a harmonious synergy with an amazing screenplay results in a spectacular, outlandish, mind boggling movie called "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". That should explain it. Its just confusingly spectacular. Throughout the movie you wouldn't have a clue on what the hell is going on. Its the climax that blooms the entire picture in your mind and sews the bits and pieces together. So have patience ,enjoy the confusion and don't skip the movie until you reach the end.
Mr. Nobody
Genre: Drama | Fantasy | Romance
IMDB Rating : 7.9
Frankly it took me over a year to watch this movie. It is a plethora of confusion.A plethora of time, dimensions, parallel universe, past present future, reality, fiction, choices and what not. A paradox. The movie doesn't stick on to a dimension of time for more than a couple of minutes. But once I reluctantly completed the entire timeline, it just spawned a million thoughts and ideas. Its so confusingly riveting that for me it passes as one of the most mind tormenting movies that I have seen. The movie is splattered left right, here n there and everywhere. It cannot be rated with just ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Brevity cannot give it justice. It is genre of its own. It may or may not exactly entertain you but it is definitely one of most mind boggling movies I've seen.
12 Monkeys
Genre: Mystery | Sci-Fi | Thriller
IMDB Rating : 8.1
Starring a stellar cast, Twelve Monkeys is one of the best Dark, Science Fiction, Mystery made in the 90’s , even though it embarks that cliched future dystopia. But it is made unique by the unusual imagery that eventually embellishes the whole art and the stunning performance of Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, which lead the latter for an Academy Award nomination. The movie is thoroughly engaging and bends our minds with satisfyingly confusing plot that mixes the future, past and present and will leave you pondering which is which. The movie just gets better and better each time you see it. So buckle up and embrace your self for a thrilling ride.
Memento
Genre: Mystery | Thriller
IMDB Rating : 8.5
One of my all time favourite movies. I've never seen a movie with quite a similar or marvelous screenplay. Its an unconventional out of the world Christopher Nolan (The acclaimed Batman Series and Inception Director) masterpiece. The movie demands your attention and captures your concentration. You learn more about the plot as the protagonist learns, you piece together what he gets and the best part of the movie is that Nolan leave’s you a choice. A choice that will leave you scrutinizing on the leftovers of the movie. A choice that is endearing and taunting at the same time.
Inception
Genre: Action | Sci-Fi | Thriller
IMDB Rating : 8.8
I cant imagine the amount of thought that's gone into the inception of this movie. It is the quintessence of grandeur visual effects ,technical paragon, explosive action, engrossing screenplay and top notch acting. Its in all sense a visual delight which is equally complex and simple. Truly a pinnacle of modern cinema crafted by a master of mind blowing excellence Christopher Nolan. The movie is so immersive that it leaves you clutching the arms of the seat biting off whatever is left of your nails. The movie is extremely well molded even to the finest intricate details. Nolan yet again leaves you with a choice that dismantles whatever possible theory you may have come up watching this extravaganza of a movie.
Donnie Darko
Genre: Drama | Sci-Fi | Mystery
IMDB Rating : 8.7
The movie is made to tantalize your mind. A showcase of a queer ,mystical and troubled teenager with a questionable prospect of normality which in turn questions us whether his world is real or is it a dive into surrealism. The characters are meant to leave the audience perturbed and confused. Jake Gyllenhaal makes you believe he is Donnie Darko. The movie is disturbingly dark but none the less captivating and entertaining which is enhanced by the beautiful haunting background scores and acoustics. Donnie Darko leaves us with an unexpected feeling of bliss and confusion.
Cloud Atlas
Genre: Sci-Fi | Drama
IMDB Rating : 7.5
Blossomed from a novel that was labeled unfilmable, Cloud Atlas surfaced to be polarizing and mixed reviewed film despite being an unusual spectacle of epic proportions. It has a taunting 6 timelines meshed together. Every scene jumps to a new timeline. Adding to this is the portrayal of different characters in each timeline by the same set of actors and the unpleasant English dialect that some of the timeline inhabitants use. It is a formidable feat achieved by yet again the Wachowski brothers. The film has fabulous cast, equally amplifying visual effects and bedazzling imagery and music scores. It is an audacious attempt which may take you to all corners of emotions.
Coherence
Genre: Sci-Fi | Thriller
IMDB Rating : 7.1
One of the densely woven script that got visualized with the smallest of budgets. The idea is so ravishing that even post movie you will try and speculate everything that you just visually swallowed. It is a paradigm of micro-budget filmmaking. There’s barely any visual effects, it is the story and script that pushes the film to the sci-fi realm.Once you muster your patience and move along with the story ,you will be so intrigued, that you will end up watching the entire movie which yet again compels you to watch it again just because you want to visualise the movie with whatever you missed on your first run, which inturn will leave you with a much better structure. It is a mindbending feast of luscious scripting awesomeness.
Predestination
Genre: Drama| Mystery | Sci-Fi
IMDB Rating : 7.4
Predestination is one of the most stupendously, mind-taunting ,engrossing ,thrilling yet nauseating movie I have seen. It's so good that after seeing the movie the one thing that I wondered was how the hell could someone come up with such a mind-blowing Screenplay. The movie is brimming with mystique, drama, romance and suspense. The feature brings in a new dimension to time travel. The story is so twisted that it will leave you astounded. One liner to tell you how good this movie is : not in your wildest dreams will you speculate what this movie has in store for you. I insist you to watch it.
