Pretty long and seemingly unpronounceable right.Well Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious despite being one of the longest words, has a rudimental and an undecorated meaning. Basically, it means 'amazing'. That's it. And you might be wondering how this is even pronounced.....

Its soo-per-kal-uh-fraj-uh-lis-tik-ek-spee-al-i-doh-shuhs.

If you are pondering who is crazy enough to come up with such a long word for such a simple meaning then think no further, this word was actually invented and used in a song from a 1964 Disney musical film, Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews (Sound Of Music fame). Julie Andrews is also credited for singing the song.

Marypoppins - Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

According to Wikipedia,The roots of the word have been defined as follows: super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and -docious "educable", with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty." According to the film, it is defined as "something to say when you have nothing to say".

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 1986.Even though used rarely or practically never in a daily context, it is still one of the longest words in the dictionary. Here are a few other long words that most of you might have never heard off.

Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl...isoleucine , containing 189,819 letters, (it's ludicrous to even type it down) is the longest word known to man and is the chemical name of a protein Titin. Sadly or gladly it was never added to the dictionary.

This makes Methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamyl...serine, another chemical name, containing 1909 letters the official longest word.

Here are a few other loooooong words.

Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism

Floccinaucinihilipilification

Antidisestablishmentarianism

Honorificabilitudinitatibus
which is basically the longest word used by Shakespeare

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is as of today the longest word recognized by the Oxford dictionary and is basically another word for the disease Silicosis caused by inhalation of volcanic dust.

This would hopefully satisfy your mental needs for long words for a long time.
Anyways thanks for reading and hopefully do continue reading, take care and always ......have fun.
